1. Introduction
Welcome to the official website of Neutrino ACC Science Club (NASC), Adamjee Cantonment College, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
We respect the privacy of our website visitors, students, club members, alumni, and other participants. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is processed, the services involved, and the choices available to individuals.
Our website provides information about NASC, including club activities, events, executive committees, membership, achievements, and educational initiatives such as Quizverse, our online science quiz platform.
Participation in activities that request personal information, including Quizverse Daily Challenges, reviews, and registration forms, is voluntary.
2. Information We Collect
The information collected depends on the features and services you choose to use.
General website browsing
When you access our website, our hosting provider and supporting services may process technical information such as:
IP address and approximate geographic location
Browser type and operating system
Device type and display characteristics
Pages accessed and the time of access
Cookies and technical information required for website functionality
This information may be used to operate the website, investigate technical problems, improve performance, and protect our services.
Information you provide
Depending on your participation, we may collect:
Name and contact information
Club membership and registration details
Event and competition participation information
Reviews, feedback, and ratings
Profile photographs and voluntarily submitted material
Quizverse participant names and Student IDs
Quiz answers, scores, participation records, and certificate details
We use this information to provide the relevant website features and club activities.
3. Quizverse: Online Quizzes and Challenges
Quizverse is an educational science quiz platform operated by NASC. It provides subject-based Practice quizzes, Daily Challenges, leaderboards, performance records, and digital participation certificates.
To operate Quizverse, we process the following information.
Participant information
Students entering a Daily Challenge are required to provide:
Full Name: Used to display participant results and prepare certificates where applicable.
Student ID: Used as the primary participant identifier for Daily Challenge eligibility, duplicate-attempt prevention, and leaderboard records.
Student IDs are treated as private administrative information and are not intended to appear on public leaderboards or certificate verification pages.
Student IDs are entered by participants themselves. Unless NASC introduces a separate verification process, entering an ID does not independently establish that the participant is its rightful owner.
Quiz information
Quizverse may record:
Challenge participation dates
Student ID and participant name
Quiz answers and scores
Attempt start and completion information
Attempt status, including incomplete or forfeited attempts
Time spent completing challenges
Participation statistics and rankings
Certificate identification and verification details
This information supports scoring, participation management, leaderboard calculations, certificate issuance, and prevention of repeated counted attempts.
Student ID identification
Quizverse uses the Student ID provided by the participant to identify Daily Challenge records.
The system is designed to permit one counted Daily Challenge attempt per Student ID during each Bangladesh calendar day.
Changing a participant’s name, browser, or device does not automatically make the same Student ID eligible for another attempt that day.
Different Student IDs are treated as separate participant identities. However, this does not constitute official identity verification.
Device identification
Quizverse also uses browser and device-related identifiers to help recognize returning participants and discourage repeated Daily Challenge attempts.
These may include:
A browser cookie named
nascQuizDeviceA corresponding identifier stored in browser local storage
Browser language and time-zone information
Screen and display characteristics
Available browser and hardware characteristics
Technical graphics-rendering information used in browser fingerprinting
The nascQuizDevice cookie may remain for up to two years unless removed by the user or browser.
These identifiers help the system recognize previously used browsers or devices and apply additional participation restrictions.
Quizverse is designed to allow only one Daily Challenge attempt per recognized device per Bangladesh calendar day, in addition to the Student ID restriction.
Limitations of device identification
Browser identifiers and fingerprints do not reliably identify a unique physical device or a particular individual.
Using another browser, clearing browser storage, enabling private browsing, or changing device settings may affect recognition.
Likewise, different students using a shared computer may be recognized as using the same device and may be prevented from entering separate Daily Challenges that day.
NASC does not represent browser fingerprinting as a guaranteed method of identifying a person or physical device.
Daily Challenge attempts and interruptions
Quizverse applies the following participation rules:
One counted Daily Challenge attempt per Student ID per Bangladesh calendar day.
One Daily Challenge attempt per recognized device per Bangladesh calendar day.
Refreshing, closing, or leaving an unfinished Daily Challenge forfeits that attempt.
An unfinished Daily Challenge cannot be resumed.
A forfeited attempt cannot be restarted as another counted attempt that day using the same recognized identity.
Subject-based Practice quizzes remain repeatable and do not require a Student ID.
Quizverse may retain answers, attempt status, and related technical information in private records for administration, scoring, and participation-integrity purposes.
The previous two-hour Daily Challenge recovery feature has been discontinued.
4. Leaderboards and Public Results
Quizverse provides public leaderboards to recognize participants based on their Daily Challenge performance.
Leaderboard information may include:
A shortened participant name
Scores and accumulated points
Ranking position
Number of participation days
Completion-time information
Daily, weekly, monthly, or all-time achievements
For example, a participant named “Donald Trump” may appear publicly as “Donald T.”
Leaderboard identification
For new Student ID-based records, Quizverse groups participation using the Student ID rather than the participant’s name alone.
Where multiple completed records exist for the same Student ID on the same day, the first completed attempt is used for leaderboard calculation.
Student IDs are not displayed publicly.
Historical Quizverse records created before Student ID identification was introduced may continue to use earlier participant-grouping methods. Consequently, older rankings may contain entries that cannot be confidently matched to newer Student ID-based records.
Leaderboard information may remain publicly accessible as part of NASC’s educational competition history.
Participants should use their own details and should not enter another person’s name or Student ID.
5. Certificates and Verification
Quizverse may issue digital participation certificates to eligible students who meet the required score in their counted Daily Challenge attempt.
To generate and verify certificates, NASC may maintain:
Participant name
Challenge date
Final score
Certificate identification number
Relevant participation and completion records
Certificates contain unique identification numbers that can be checked through the Quizverse verification feature.
A person possessing a valid certificate ID may be able to view the associated participant name, score, date, and certificate details.
Student IDs, browser identifiers, and device fingerprints are not intended to be disclosed through public certificate verification.
Previously issued certificates and their verification IDs remain supported where the corresponding records are retained.
Certificate information may be stored for ongoing authenticity verification.
6. Club Membership and Executive Profiles
NASC publishes information about current and former executive committees, members, and alumni.
Depending on the information submitted and approved for publication, profiles may include:
